Plants Investigation

Lesson: Science

Class: Year 2 Year: 2022 - 2023

As part of our Science curriculum, we investigated what plants need to grow well. We planted poppy and cress seeds around different parts of school and in different conditions. For example, some of our seeds were planted and put in a dark cupboard, some of our seeds were not watered and some of our seeds were even placed in the fridge! After a week, we observed the plants and decided that plants need water, sunlight, soil and warmth in order to grow well. Next term, we will build on this as we will use what we know about the needs of a plant to try and grow our own beanstalk!
