Year 6 end of half-term blog

Date: 20th Oct 2021 @ 3:31pm

Well everyone, we have made it to the end of our first half-term in Year 6. What a busy one it has been!

BLACK HISTORY MONTH

This week, we have been celebrating Black History Month by completing lots of fun activities. Our focus in Year 6 was politics. We learned all about the legalisation and abolition of slavery, the people involved in campaigning for civil rights and the period of segregation, where black and white people were forced to stay separate.

We have recreated Martin Luther King's 'I Have a Dream' speech, researched into black history and the progress that has been made over the past few centuries, created our own 'Angelic Troublemaker' superheroes (inspired by Bayard Rustin), read the story of Rosa Parks and we have produced collages about Black History month and what it represents to us.

Below you will find a few photographs of some of our collages. We hope you like them.

Have a wonderful half term, everyone! See you all on the 2nd November.
