Arrivals and Departures

Morning Session

The care contract will only come into effect when children are entered onto the register. They should be accompanied and will be signed into the register by the staff member on duty.

At the end of the morning session the Junior children will transfer themselves from the hall and go straight to their classroom. All infant children will be escorted to class and Reception children will be handed to a member of staff in the Reception department.

After School Session

At the beginning of the session the Junior children will be allowed to transfer themselves from their class straight to After School Club. All infant children will be escorted to the club by a member of staff.

The care contract will end, and responsibility of the child will be handed over when a parent/guardian has collected the child/ and the staff member on duty had signed them out on School Money, alongside the club's paper register.

No child should be handed over to anyone other than the known parent/guardian unless an agreement has been made previously.

If a child is not collected by a parent/guardian, an agreed procedure must be followed to identify a nominated adult e.g. personal password.

Access to Information

We believe that an open access policy is the best way of encouraging participation.

Parents/guardians are welcome to view the policies and procedures file which governs the way that the ABC works. There may be times when information needs to be passed on from school to the ABC staff, to the adult collecting your child. If you wish for this information not to be passed on in this way could you please put it in writing to the club.

Behaviour

At ABC Club we expect all children to behave in a positive manner and to treat everyone with respect. If children choose to behave in a negative manner then ABC Club will follow the sanctions stated below:

  • One verbal warning will be given, however if the behaviour continues then a second verbal warning will be given along with a note being made in the behaviour book and the child's parents informed.
  • If a child has to be spoken to for a third time then a written warning will be given.
  • If a child receives three written warnings then they will be temporarily excluded from ABC Club.

Complaints Procedures

If any parent should have cause for complaint they should in the first instance take it up with the club Manager (Mrs Lightfoot). If the issue remains then the Head Teacher should be contacted. The Head Teacher will then investigate the complaint and report back to the parent.

If the matter cannot be resolved to their satisfaction, then parents have the right to raise the matter with the ABC Club Committee (c/o St.Mary's Birchley Primary School, Birchley Road, Billinge, Nr Wigan, WN5 7QJ)
