Week ending 12th October

Date: 17th Oct 2018 @ 6:56am

Well, half term is fastly approaching, but Y1 have been continuing to work hard and Mrs Taylor and Mrs Duffy are looking forward to all the parents/grandparents seeing the wonderful work the children have been doing at Parents Evening and sharing lots of good news about this.

Come and See:

This week we have been learning about Judaism and great leaders from the Old Testament.  We listenend to the story of Abraham who God promised as many children as the stars in the sky and Moses who lead the Jews to the Promised Land.

A Huge Bag of Worries:

The children have enjoyed reading this book as part of their Literacy lessons and have been practising their sentence writing this week.  We have now got children who are able to write more than one sentence, use capital letters and full stops accurately and some children are even using conjunctions!  Ask your child what a conjunction is!  I bet many of them can tell you and even why we use them.

Harvest Assembly - Farmer Farmer

We were very proud of Y1 (plus all the other children) and the way in which they sang and shared their knowledge of Harvest this week during our Harvest Assembly.  Y1 performed the poem 'Farmer Farmer' and came to school dressed as farmers for the day.  Thankyou for your support in helping the children learn the poem and dressing them up.
