Good morning Year 4!

How are you all today?

I hope you are all enjoying reading and learning about Monet. Have you been inspired to create your own amazing art work? If you visit this website, https://www.ducksters.com/biography/artists/claude_monet.php, you may find out some more interesting facts about this famous painter. Florence has created a painting which she has called The Flowering Pear Tree. I think she has done a fabulous job! I really like how you have used similar colours to Monet and that you have managed to add some texture to the leaves of your tree, just like Monet does in his pictures.

As you create your masterpieces email them into school so that I can see them and I can also share them with everyone on the blog. If you don’t feel like drawing or painting, you could create a fact file all about Monet instead.

The BBC Bitesize maths lesson today is about perimeter again. The perimeter 2Do will be live until next week, so if you haven’t completed it yet there is still plenty of time. Well done to Jacob M, Declan, Reggie, Ava, Lexie, Leon, Joshua C and Gabriel who have already completed this task!

The English lesson today is looking at how to write a diary entry. We have written a few diary entries in Year 4. Could you pick a day and write a diary entry about it? You could post your diary entry on our blog on Purple Mash as a way of sharing the fun things you are doing at home with the class.

The final BBC Bitesize lesson today is about vertebrates and invertebrates. Can anyone remember when we learnt about these in our very first science topic? Can you remember the difference between a vertebrate and invertebrate?

For those of you who listened to the first chapter of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone last week, you will be pleased to know that chapters two and three are now available to listen to.

Chapter Two - https://www.wizardingworld.com/chapters/reading-the-vanishing-glass

Chapter Three - https://www.wizardingworld.com/chapters/reading-the-letters-from-no-one

Just like last week there are a number of activities linked to the chapters underneath the videos.

Keep reading every day and practising your times tables.

Take care and I will talk to you tomorrow,
