Home School 18th June

Date: 17th Jun 2020 @ 8:16pm

Hello Year 2 and a big “Good Morning!” to you all. J It’s Mrs Ryan here with your topic tasks for today.

This week, we are going to be finding out about a famous explorer of the Antarctic- Robert Falcon Scott. I have attached a PowerPoint and some tasks below:

Task 1: After reading the PowerPoint, can you chronologically sequence the main events from Captain Scott’s journey? Can you write a sentence explaining what is happening in each picture?

Task 2: Can you write a short diary entry as if you were Captain Scott explaining how you felt on your journey home from the Antarctic? See the example I have done to give you some inspiration.

Task 3: This is a creative task! Can you follow the recipe to make your own sparkly snow clouds like you would find in the Polar Regions?

Task 4:  Just for fun, there is a Captain Scott word search for you to try.

Don’t forget to try and do some times tables revision today as well children. Remember, practise makes perfect. wink

For those of you who like to follow the BBC daily lessons, today’s lessons are as follows: Maths: shape patterns, English: Describing words in adverts, DT: Repeat pattern making. This last one is particularly useful for us as in our Art lessons this half term, we will be making some African artwork using repeating patterns.
