Good morning Reception smiley

How are you feeling today? I hope you are all feeling amazing! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYaNyKI1iVY

Here is a little happy dance for you all to do, to get you ready for a busy day.

Special Sound of The Day

Our friends Rosie and Fred are back again this morning, with some new sounds for us to practise. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCo7fbLgY2oA_cFCIg9GdxtQ/videos

Reading

Can you invite all your favourite toys to a tea party? When your guests are all comfortable, can you read them a story? I think they would enjoy that very much!

Maths

Today you will need a pencil and some paper, you are going to be drawing some wiggly worms. https://wrm-13b48.kxcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Day-2-Superworm.pdf

Maths Through Play

Here are a few ideas of how you could practise maths through play.

Number

• Plan a picnic and let your child decide how many sandwiches and bananas you will need.

• Make a number line using birthday cards.

• Play number snap or bingo with numbers that your child has cut out of a magazine.

• Sing number songs where your child has to count backwards like “Five Little Ducks” or “Ten Fat Sausages”.

 Shape, space and measure

• Sort out the pairs of shoes so that they go from small to big.

• Make patterns with buttons or lids, like “big, small, big”.

• Allow your child to give you instructions for an obstacle course, like “Go under the blanket”, “Go through the tunnel” and “Go behind the chair”.

Crafty Idea

Can you make a Superworm stick puppet? Try using any materials you have available. You could even use a stick from the garden or a stick you find out on your daily walk.

I have found a short video, it shows you how you could make a worm puppet. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8svy1SEP1o8 Did you think of a different way to make your puppet?

Once you make a superworm stick puppet, can you retell the story of Superworm? Or can you make up your own story about a wiggly worm?

Get Ready To Write!

We have been learning from home for 7 week now. That is such a long time Reception. I have a little challenge for you all. Can you sit with your grown up and look at some of the pictures you have taken, in the last 7 week? Can you remember all of the fun you have had with your family? Talk  to your family about your favourite times.

Now, can you write about all the exciting things you have done at home?

We are going to start a memory jar! How exciting! I will tell you more about it tomorrow smiley
