Home Learning Week 4 - Friday

Date: 1st May 2020 @ 9:52am

Good morning Reception smiley

How are you today? Do you kow what day it is today? Sing our days of the week song with your family and tell them what day it is. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HtQcnZ2JWsY

If you guessed it was Friday, you're right!!!! It's FRIDAY!! Nearly time for the weekend.

On friday in school we always practise our tricky words. I hope you can all remember them. Here is a link to our tricky word songs. Don't let them trick you! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R087lYrRpgY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TvMyssfAUx0

Can you all remember spooooooky spellings? Have a go at playing with your family. Who can spell the most spooky spellings? http://www.ictgames.com/mobilePage/spookySpellings/index.html

Well done, to all the children who have been busy teaching their monster to read! I am very impressed with your hard work!

Maths

Have you all met your Numbot? What's your 'Numbots' name? Did you know I have a Numbot too?

Numbots is a great way to keep practising your numbers, if you keep pratising you will be able to impress me with your number knowledge when we come back to school!

There is another game called TT Rockstars, this is a little bit tricky for Reception, so please stick with Numbots. Numbots is an extra special game just for Reception, how lucky are we?!

Todays challenge -

Can you learn about the number 17? What do you know about the number 17? This episode of 'Numberblocks' will help you a little bit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=giiP_hCsUHU
Can you practise writing the number 17? Remember, you don't have to practise with pen and paper. Have any of you been practising writing in an exciting way? I would love to see a photo, if you have. After that can you practise counting out 17 objects? Can you split them into a group of 10 and a group of 7? (17 is 10 and 7)

Dinosaur Time

It was lovely to hear from Anna today. Anna has made a dinosaur that is nearly as big as her house, it stretched all the way up to her bedroom window. How amazing! Anna's dinosaur is a herbivore, his neck is very long.  Anna told me the reason his neck is so long is because he needs to reach up high to eat the leaves from the trees.

Maddison has been extra busy this week. I was very impressed with the 'waffle-saurus' you made, it looked delicious! Yum Yum! Did it taste nice? I was also super impressed with the nest that you made from twigs, bark and moss from your garden. Fantastic! Keep up the good work!

Well done to Romeo who found out how big different types of dinosaurs were. Romeo used his Daddy's tape measure to find out which dinosaurs would fit inside his house. Romeo said he can fit a Pterdactyl in his house, that's amazing! I wonder what mischief he would get up to if he came to visit?

I have attached a few examples of some crafty, dinosaur activities that you could try at home.

Have a lovely day Reception. I will write to you all on Monday.

Take care heart
