Happy New Year! Spring Term 1

Date: 6th Jan 2023 @ 3:55pm

Happy New Year everyone!

We have had a very busy two days in school refreshing  clasroom routines and rules. The children also enjoyed telling their friends about the Christmas festivities.

This week, we learned all about the 'Winter' season. We talked about appropriate clothing to wear during this time, made winter pictures, and did some wonderful winter writing. The children also had a good time carrying out a winter investigation! We investigated the changes in state of water, and made ice cubes! We were so excited to look inside our freezer. On Monday, we'll consider where the ice cubes might melt faster or slower and carry out some research.

In maths, we continued to investigate 2D shapes and their properties. We have also looked at Day and Night. The children enjoyed talking about their own daily routines.  The children have been given a fun home learning activity, which help to reinforce the work they have been doing in school.  There is no need to return the sheet to school, so please just do what you can and when you can. It would be lovely if you could upload a photograph of your child's work to Evidence Me so we can celebrate their learning.

We are very impressed with how well the children are reading. On Monday, new reading books will be sent home.

Have a lovely weekend,
