We have had a lovely week in Y2 this week, completing lots of practical and exciting activities. The children have done extraordinarily well to concentrate during the heatwave and deserve a well earned rest.

In literacy we have concluded our Knowsley Safari Park recount and our desert oasis poems, the children have produced some lovely work.

In maths we also finished our work on measures, which included a potion-making masterclass and outside activities. On Thursday we began our new topic on money.

On Friday we had a particularly exciting day, the morning began with our Come and See worship outside which concluded our topic on Rules, this covered apologies, forgiveness, the importance of rules and the Sacrament of Reconciliation. This was led by dark blue table, well done! Thank you to all who attended our church service and we hope you enjoyed yourselves as much as we did. A special shoutout to our Y2 choir member who sang beautifully during the service. Again, we made the most of the sunshine and enjoyed a picnic outside with friends and family which lead into a fun-packed afternoon of art. The children's batik designs have come out fantastically and will look lovely on display at school and home.

Finally we ended the week on a fantastic 100 star points!yes(This would have been even more if our chart had allowed it.)

Following through on a promise which she thoroughly did not believe would ever come to fruition, Miss Simm submitted to her ice bucket challenge forfeit this afternoon, much to the children's delight.

Have a lovely weekend,

The Y2 team smiley
