Summer 1- Week 5

Date: 13th May 2024 @ 3:52pm

Hi everyone,

This week we read Dougie Poynter and Tom Fletcher's fabulous story, The Dinosaur That Pooped a Planet. This story made us laugh so hard! Throughout the week, we had a great time researching dinosaurs and their habitats, as well as creating dinosaur poo, which we will investigate next week!

In maths, we explored subtraction with concrete objects, used number lines to jump backwards and wrote our own subtraction number sentences.

In phonics, we reviewed previously taught digraphs and trigraphs, as well as Level 2, 3 and 4 tricky words. We also practised  forming our letters correctly.

We went dinosaur hunting during our wellie walk and had to work as a team to find the dinosaurs. We practised our counting skills by counting the number of different dinosaurs we could see and recording the results on clipboards. We worked hard to form the numbers correctly.

Sadly, we said our goodbyes to Aayushi at the end of the week. We had a party to celebrate and wish her good luck.

We wish you a happy weekend,

The Reception Team
