Home Learning Week 6 Friday
Date: 14th May 2020 @ 9:57am
It's Friday Year 3 - 1 more day to the weekend. I am so looking forward to a lie in tomorrow.
Bitesize Daily Learning:
Maths: As always on a Friday, today's lesson focuses upon problem solving. Have a go at the problems and record your answers in your Home Learning Book. There are only 4 challenges to have a go at - so it shouldn't take you too long. Number 1 is the easiest challenge to complete. Let me know if you manage to solve Number 4.
English: Today's task is a reading activity based around the story Charlie Changes into a Chicken. The story sounds hilarious. I might buy the book for myself to read it all in full. The focus of the lesson is to develop a) your ability to summarise what is happening in a text b) to explore how the author's words help you to think about what is happening.
Drawing and Painting: A nice activity to finish the week. This lessons explores how to draw expressions - happy, sad, annoyed and surprised - onto characters' faces. If you don't fancy this activity, why not start your sculpture in the style of Antony Gormley. I can't wait to see them.
A couple of weeks ago, I challenged you to build the tallest tower that you could using the resources listed. Today, I am challenging you to build the longest bridge. Have a look at the attachment and if you decide to take on the challenge, let me know how you get on.
And finally - A MASSIVE SHOUT OUT TO LIAM who has achieved a personal best score of 25 questions correct in 1 minute, which is an average of 2.4 seconds per question. Keep going Liam and you will soon be on the leaderboard. Don't forget though that you have to play the STUDIO game ten times to enter your score onto the leaderboard.
Have a good weekend everyone and take care.
I will speak to you all again on Monday.

p.s. I don't know if you have noticed, but the teachers challenged Y3 to a tournament on Rock Stars. With 1 day to go the teachers are over 2,000 points in front of you Y3. Looks like we are going to win this battle. TEACHERS' RULE
