Good morning Reception smiley

How are you feeling today? I hope you all had a lovely, long weekend celebrating VE Day. I would love to hear all about your celebrations.

Story of The Week

I have a new story for us this morning. It is a story all about a very busy spider. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nEPYKmIt4dU I hope you enjoy it! Do you know any other stories about a spider?

I know a song about a spider. Can you sing it with your family? Can you sign along to the song? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TMfPKUz3hvE

Special Sound of The Day

Rosie and Fred are back today at 10am with some new sounds for us to practise.  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCo7fbLgY2oA_cFCIg9GdxtQ/videos

Don't forget that Mr Mc also does daily phonics lessons. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCTcZnvuTeovlznioLRo0GOA

Who is your favourite? I like to watch Rosie and Fred, they're my favourite!

Did any of you try out some phonics games last week? Did you enjoy them?

Reading

Have you been practising reading everyday? It is very important to keep practising, if you want to be a super star reader! If you have read all your books at home, there a lots of lovely books to access online. For free Read Write Inc. Phonics eBooks, activities and advice, visit Oxford Owl for Home: www.oxfordowl.co.uk/read-write-inc-home

Dinosaur Time

Last week I saw some amazing photo's of all your dinosaur cafe's. I was SO impressed with all your hard work, they were FANTASTIC!!!

For your writing activity this week, can you write a letter? Why don't you write a letter to a dinosaur?  Will you invite him to your dinosaur cafe? Have you got any questions you would like to ask a dinosaur? If you have, write them in your letter. You never know Reception, you may even recieve a letter back from a dinosaur! How exciting!

*Can you write more than one sentence?

*Remember when you are writing, use your 'Robot arms' to help you hear the sounds in words.

*Remember to clap, stomp and chomp your words, if you want to write a longer word with more than one syllable.

Here's a video of our song to help you, incase you have forgotten. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vlBc703kYMg

*Remember to 'Chop' your sentence and count how many words you need to write. Remember to check your sentence at the end, to make sure you have enough words.

What should your sentence begin with? What should you put at the end of your sentence?

Have a lovely day Reception, I will write to you all tomorrow.

Take care heart
