Easter In Church
Date: 4th Apr 2019 @ 12:11pm
Our topic in Come and See has been 'Death and New Life'. We have been reminded of the story of Easter and how Jesus died for us, so that we could live. We have learned about sacrifice and how we can die in our old ways (being mean, unkind and selfish) to start again and be renewed (by being more selfless, thinking of others, treating people with kindness, compassion and respect). We also talked about how dying in our old ways and starting fresh would be fruitful for ourselves and other people.
To fit in with our topic, and to remind us of what Easter is really about, we visited Church this week. Mrs McDonnell invited us over to Church to teach us about something which we see in Church a lot and don't really think about. We learned all about the stations of the cross and what they mean to us as Christians. It was a very interesting and enjoyable visit to Church.
In what has been a very Holy week for us in Year 6, we also hosted a 'Stay and Pray' event, where we invited parents into school to join us in our daily act of Collective Worship. Thank you to those parents who attended: it was lovely of you to take time out of your day to gather with us, listen to the Word, respond to it and go forth feeling revitalised, renewed and ready to live a fruitful and selfless life.
