Good morning Year 1!

How are you this morning?  I hope that you are feeling happy and well! yes

So...seaside holidays in the past.  Have any of you managed to find anything out yet about how holidays at the seaside were different all those years ago?  I hope that you enjoyed looking at the powerpoint and that that has given you a little hint that holidays in the Victorian times were quite different compared with seaside holidays today. wink

If you go over to the blog, I have set you some questions that I would like you to find out the answer to.  Good luck!

Purple Mash:

I have added some more activities on here for you to have a go at.  One of them is a sheet asking you to compare seaside holidays in the past with now.  You need to think about things that are similar (the same) and things that are different.  If you have done your research then you will be able to have a go at this and the pictures on the worksheet will help you as well.  There are also a couple of questions on the blog for you to answer.

Reading Comprehension

I have attached a nice reading comprehension for you to have a go at.  Remember, reading comprehension is when you read something and then answer questions on it.  Some of the questions will be quite straight forward and easy but some of them might require you to think a bit more.  You can either have a go at this on your own or if it is a bit too tricky, then read it with a grown up or your brother or sister and then have a go at answering the questions.  It should really get you in the mood for summer!!!

I am going to sign off for today now and want to end with two nice, positive quotes.  For all of you who are working hard at home and to those of you who are in school, working hard despite things being quite different - YOU ARE ALL AMAZING and WE MISS YOU!
