'The Great British Bread Off!' Week 2

Lesson: Design and technology

Class: Year 6 Year: 2016 - 17

This week, we continued to learn about bread and more children had a go at baking their own loaves, rolls and baguettes. The children really enjoyed this, and once again, we saw some super results! It was much warmer this week, so we found that the bread rose much quicker than last time- resulting in some mega bread loaves!

The rest of the class were 'bread detectives' and used the class computers to research the origins of different types of bread. Amongst other things, we found out that soda bread initially came from Ireland, baguettes originate from France and mantou bread is originally from China.
