Science and Technology

Week

Monday -

  • Science2U show (AM). It was brilliant!
  • Visit to the library (PM) to learn all about this year's summer reading challenge: the theme this year is Space Chase!

Tuesday -

  • Robotics workshop (AM). We all absolutely loved it!
  • Balloon rocket investigation (AM). This was extremely fun.
  • Science quiz (PM). All four houses went head to head and Matthew house was victorious!

Wednesday -

  • 60 second science experiments (AM). We mixed water with oil and noticed how it separated. We then froze the bottle we placed them in and we will observe what happens tomorrow. Then, we made fireworks in a jar, using only oil, water and food colouring. We really enjoyed these short experiments and Mrs Naylor has promised there is more to come!
  • Junk modelling (AM and PM). Our task was to create a way of travelling in the year 3000. We showed great teamwork and had some fantastic ideas.

Thursday -

  • DT (AM). Designing and creating a boat that would (hopefully) float.
  • 60 second science experiment (AM). We put M&Ms in jars of water, left them for 5 minutes and when we returned, something amazing happened! Check out the pictures to see what it was.
  • Research task (AM). Research a famous scientist or tech genius.
