Well we made it to the end of a very, very busy term !

Date: 21st Dec 2017 @ 4:35pm

One more day to go before we break up for Christmas and I'm sat here in a lovely quiet school reflecting upon the last couple of weeks - AND what a busy couple of weeks they have been!

We have performed 5 Christmas Nativity Plays in front of packed audiences; celebrated our Y4 children's First Confession with them; sang at the Pensioners' Christmas Party; performed carols at St. Aidans on the opening day of Billinge's Christmas Tree Festival; joined other schools to perform the Christmas Story at Parish Church in St.Helens; dressed up Christmassy for a festive day of fun; watched a fantastic pantomime -Beauty and the Beast; ate a very tasty Christmas Lunch; enjoyed popcorn and juice; played Selection Box Bingo and finally joined our families to reflect upon the true meaning of Christmas through readings and songs in St. Mary's Church yesterday. Wow!

Throughout the last two weeks, the children have been an absolute joy. They have entered into school life with great spirit and zest and every single one of them has been a joy and a delight to be around.

I have really enjoyed watching our children perform and they have all been stars in their own right.

I was immensely proud of them all yesterday during the Carol Service. They read so well and sang so beautifully that I am sure that they touched everyone's hearts - not just my own. The children were a credit not only to themselves, but to their families and school as well.

Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all personally for all of the support that both I and the school have received over the last term. St. Mary's is indeed a happy learning community where your children can live, love and learn safe in the knowledge that all we ask is that they try to be the best they can be. And I think it is true to say that over the last two weeks, every single child has achieved that goal.

Have a lovely Christmas everyone and a Happy New Year and I look forward to seeing you all in 2018
