Week ending 17th November

Date: 15th Nov 2017 @ 5:26pm

Come and See - Belonging

After listening to the story of 'Jesus and the Children' we know that Jesus always welcomes children.  Our Baptism was when we were welcomed into God's family.  We watched a video of a Baptism and drew and labelled a Baptism.

Addition Facts

We have been learning all of the addition families to 10.  We have played games, worked practically with string of ten beads and ones and worked systematically finding all the number bonds within 10.  Next week we will continue with this theme investigating addition facts beyond 10.

Nativity

Well, it's that time of year again!  We have been super busy practising being the orchestra and choir for the KS1 nativity of Whoops a Daisy Angel.

Filling Gerald's Bucket!

In Literacy, we have been thinking about what we would say to Gerald the Giraffe from our class reader 'Giraffes Can't Dance' to fill his bucket, after the other animals cruely laughed at his dancing.  We made a list of words we would say to him and then used these words to write descriptive sentences.  Some of our ideas were brave, courageous, tall and strong and we are sure that these words along with all the others would soon fill his bucket! heart

What is Capacity?

We really enjoyed finding out the meaning of Capacity on Friday morning, exploring the idea of full, half full and empty and thinking about the size of containers and how much they can hold.  Have a look at the photos on our gallery.  We had a ball!
