Good Morning Year 4!
It is Wednesday already! Can you believe that we are half way through the week! I hope you are all well and are having fun as well as working hard.
So far only Joshua M and Gabriel have completed the Times Tables Rock Stars sessions for this week – well done boys! Remember, it is really important to practise your times tables!
BBC Bitesize’s maths lesson today is about line graphs, can you remember looking at these in class? Just like a bar chart they need a title and labelled axis. Have a look at the PowerPoint I have attached for some extra information about how to draw and interpret a line graph before trying the worksheet. The answers are also attached so that you can check your work. I have also set some 2Do's which focus on interpreting data for extra practise.
The English lesson today is looking at how to write a good letter. We have written letters in English, can you remember the features of a letter?
- The recipient’s address goes on the right
- The sender’s address goes on the left
- Letters must be dated
- If you do not know who you are writing to use Dear Sir/Madam and end the letter with Yours Faithfully
- If you know the name of the person you are writing to use their name and end the letter with Yours Sincerely
- A formal letter must not include contractions
I have attached a PowerPoint and some letter writing templates. I thought it might be nice if you wrote a letter to Mrs Hymers telling her about something you have enjoyed in school or at home during home schooling this year. If you write a letter, email it to me and I will make sure that she sees it.
The final lesson today is a science lesson looking at rocks, soils and fossils. This is a topic you covered in year 3, so I have found a PowerPoint and activity all about soundproofing which links to our sound topic for you to have a look at.
