Hello everyone,

We've had a fantastic week in school this week and as usual I would like to share it with you.

Come and See

We've continued to learn about the different parts of the mass and what they mean.  We have used the words - Gather, Listen, Respond and Go Forth to help us understand what each element of worship involves.

Number

We have been developing our understanding of division and learning how it links to multiplication.  We know we need to learn our 2, 5 and 10 times tables so that we are able to fluently recall and use these facts in multiplication and division calculations and problems.  We have learnt that doubling is the same as multiplying by 2 and that halving is the same as dividing by 2.

Literacy

We are loving our "Toys in Space" by Mini Grey and have completed some wonderful writing.  It links to our new topic "Out of this World"  where we are learning all about the first moon landing and space exploration.

As part of our celebrations for World Book Day we did some art work on Monday.  So far this year we have read and shared: Gregory Cool by Caroline Binch, The Highway Rat by Julia Donalson,  The Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig by Eugene Trivizas, Jim and the Beanstalk by Raymond Briggs and now Toys in Space by Mini Grey.  All of these titles formed part of our decorated Book Door to celebrate "Share a story"  which is the theme of this years Book Day.  We are also enjoying our class reader - George's Marvellous Medicine.

Please have a look at some of our decorated potatoes which are currently on display in the infant hall.

See you all next week!
