WC 16th October

Date: 19th Oct 2017 @ 4:49pm

Hello everyone,

Half term is almost here, and what a wonderful and productive half term we've had.

We learnt about ways of life in a Hindu home this week and designed our own Home Shrine in class complete with Puja tray. We all enjoyed watching the BBC Learning Zone clips about Hinduism and we've all completed some lovely work.   It has been a real pleasure learning about different faiths.

We have almost come to the end of our "Passport to the World" topic and we are about to say "farewell" to Gregory Cool and his cousin Lennox. This week we have completed Gregory's diary and his passport. On Friday we are going to celebrate the end of the topic with Caribbean fruit punch and some music to accompany it!

In maths we have continued to use our new techniques to help us check our calculations - we have been using the inverse and looking at how addition and subtraction are related.  We are much quicker with our number bonds to 10 and are now ready to practise our number bonds to 20.  We have been enjoying looking at patterns in number.

Happy holidays everyone, take care smiley
