Step into the NHS Competition

Date: 27th Apr 2020 @ 12:52pm

Hello Key Stage Two! Mrs Naylor here. heart

I hope you are all well and are working hard. This week, I have a little mission for you, should you choose to accept it. wink

There is a national competition coming up that children are being encouraged to enter. It is called 'Step into the NHS' and it is designed to teach you all about the many different roles of NHS workers. It is also a chance for you to reflect on how much the NHS helps people during their times of need and express our thanks for all of their hard work, dedication and sacrifice.

Some of you may have family members who work in the NHS; others might want to become an NHS worker when they grow up. At some point, we all need the NHS (whether it's when we have an accident and need to go to hospital, go to the doctors with a sore throat or go to the dentist for a check-up), so we all have a reason to be thankful to them. This competition will hopefully show these important people just how grateful we are for what they do.

Now, the competition is optional- you don't have to participate if you don't want to- but I would encourage you to give it a go. It involves some fun activities (and there is a chance you could win up to £50 in Amazon vouchers!)

In order to do the competition, there is some reflection and learning involved. Today, I am not going to give you the competition details. Today, your task is to think about yourself and what you are good at. I've attached two activities and a PowerPoint to this blog for you to look at. Completing these activities will help you produce a fantastic competition entry (all will be revealed soon!)

Have a go at today's activities and I will blog again tomorrow with your next steps. It would be lovely if you could have a go!

Speak to you all tomorrow,
