'Soup' erstars!

Date: 14th Feb 2020 @ 4:11pm

What a wonderful half term we have had! We have thoroughly enjoyed our ‘Once Upon a Time’ topic and, once again, both Mrs Ryan and Mrs TD have been blown away by our hard work and enthusiasm.

As well as undertaking lots of interesting Science experiments this half term, we have enjoyed our DT lessons where we have tasted and evaluated a range of vegetable soups. Following this, we created a criterion for our own healthy soup.

Today, we were ‘soup’erstars!  We followed our recipe very carefully and worked in small groups with Mrs Ryan and Mrs OD to carefully peel and chop our vegetables. We then added stock and water. The kitchen staff very kindly heated our soup for us in a large pan.

In the afternoon, we enjoyed tasting and evaluating our soup whilst watching ‘Jack and The Beanstalk’.

We have also started to grow bean plants just like Jack- they have been sent home today. We know that they need sunlight, water, air and warmth to grow well. Please look after them and if anyone manages to grow a beanstalk then do bring it in after the holiday to show us!

We hope everyone has a wonderful half term and are looking forward to seeing you all when we are back.
