Reception Newsletter - 31st March

Date: 30th Mar 2017 @ 9:08pm

Dear Parents,

This week we have listened to the story The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. As many of us already know this story very well, we have been learning how to retell it. We have been using actions to help us to remember parts of the story and to write our ideas down. Well done!

In maths we have been exploring repeated patterns. We are now able to recognise and describe repeated patterns. We were really good at making our very own repeated pattern caterpillars as well as finding and creating them during our independent learning.

As you know, we have been collecting 2ps all week, ready to make a 2p trail yesterday. It was a huge success and we had so much fun! We just couldn’t believe how many 2ps we had. Thank you so much for your kind donations!

Well, that’s it! We’ve had another brilliant half-term and the children have been working so hard! But now for a well-deserved break (for the children of course!)

I have included some activities for the children to do over the break if they wish to.

These include:

- Tricky words to read and spell

- Half-term writing

- Reading books

- Website links to literacy and maths games we like to play at school;

Have a fabulous break!
