Reception News - 24th November

Date: 26th Nov 2017 @ 7:45pm

Hello everyone

What a week it's been!

In Come and see we are thinking about being welcomed into God's family. We listened to a story about a baby named Matthew getting baptised in church and being welcomed into the family of God. We went to church to see Father Bernard. We took our baby Daisy and had her baptised.

We found something very unusual on Monday...a big bowl of yummy porridge. We read Goldilocks and the Three Bears and it finally all made sense. We were shocked at Goldilocks' wrong choices and set to work thinking of ways we could make the bears feel happy again.

In our writing this week we wrote a letter (on behalf of Goldilocks) to apoloise to the bears and suggest a way of mending their friendship. We thought Goldilocks could make the bed, fix the chair or make some more porridge.

In maths we have been helping the bears with their belongings. Did you know Goldilocks mixed them all up? So we have been ordering their belongings by lengh and working really hard to describe length as longest, longer, shortest and shorter. Some of us even measured their belongings. Daddy bear's spoon was 13 cubes long!

Phonics

Miss Davies says we are working super hard in phonics and she is really proud of us. We will be having phonics as usual next week so we will have get ready for some new sounds!

Show and Tell

We had lots of interesting show and tell items this week....a fabulous dancing dress, a nursery certificate, a writing pad from Spain and some lovely hand soap from the Summer Fair. Our show and tell is a lovely opportunity for us to speak and listen to our friends and ask and answer questions. It would be lovely to hear from some of our friends who haven't had a turn yet smiley
