Come and See

This week we have been thinking about the celebrations we have in church. We headed over to church to search for things used during these celebrations like the baptismal font, the alter, hymn books etc.

We read the story Here Come the Aliens by Colin McNaughton. In the story the aliens were on their way to Earth until they saw a photo of us. They were that frightened of us, they turned around and flew back to their own planets. This made us wonder about where they lived. So, in our writing this week we have been describing different possibilities. Some of us thought they might live on Chocolate Planet, Football Planet and even Cheesy Planet!

Just in case those grumpy aliens tried to come to Earth again, we decided to build a rocket so that we could send them home to their planets. So in maths we have been exploring different 3D shapes, comparing their faces and pointy corners to help us design our rockets.

In PE, we continued to be astronauts and explored the space around us. We practised balancing ‘pieces of moon rock’ to each other without dropping it! We were very good at this!

Thank you for all your boxes, we’ve been extra busy in our creative area this week. Please keep them coming!

Have a great weekend.
