Making Rock Cakes

As part of our science topic (Rocks), we learnt all about rocks and fossils. We learnt that there are 3 types of rock:

Sedimentary

Igneous

Metamorphic

We also discovered lots about the rock cycle, fossils and even types of soil. To finish off this interesting, fun topic, Miss Barnes decided that we would make our very own rock out of delicious ingredients.

Here you can see some photographs of us making our rock cakes. We enjoyed layering the 'sediments' to create our yummy cakes, but the best part of the process was definitely the tasting!

We used the following ingredients to make our rock cakes:

  • Marshmallows
  • Rice Krispies
  • Melted chocolate (milk and white)
  • M&Ms
  • Rainbow Drops
  • Hundreds and Thousands

Below, you will find some images of us creating our rock cakes. I am sure you'll agree that they looked tasty!
