Good morning Reception smiley

How are you feeling today? The sun is shining bright for us again today, YAY!

I have got some VERY exciting news for you this morning. We have a new little friend who has joined our class today. I would like to give a very warm welcome and a big St Mary's hello, to Lyla Mae Semmens smiley I hope you're excited to meet lots of new friends!  We have so much fun in our Reception class, we can't wait to meet you Lyla!!

Special Sound of The Day

I wonder what sounds Rosie and Fred are going to help us learn today? Make sure you watch, to find out! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCo7fbLgY2oA_cFCIg9GdxtQ/videos

Have you been playing any phonics games to help you learn your sounds? Games are lots of fun and are a good way to help you remember everything you have learned in phonics.

Daily Writing

Are you practising your writing Reception? Can you remember our special, green writing books at school? You used the special books to write about anything you wanted smiley Ask your grown up if they have any special paper or writing books that you could use to help you practise your independent writing.

(Note to parents - Writing material is accessible at all times, in the classroom. Children are able to access the writing material at any time throughout the day for independent writing. It may be helpful to have pens and paper that are easily accessible for your child at home too.)

Maths

Are you all enjoying our spider maths activities? I wonder what fun you are going to have today? I will give you a clue....you will need a dice and a pencil!   https://wrm-13b48.kxcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Day-3-The-very-busy-spider.pdf I hope you have fun!

Ask your grown up to hide numbers 1 -20 around your house and garden. Can you go  on a number hunt to find all the numbers? Can you put the numbers back in the correct order? Give it a go yes

Fresh Air

Did any of you find a web yesterday?

While you are outside today, can you make an obstacle course? Use what ever materials and objects you can find. How are you going to get accross the obstacle course? Why don't you pretend to be a spider as you move accross the course. While you are being a spider, think about -

How does the spider move?

How could you pretend to be a spider?

How else could you move?

How might a spider move to spin a web?

Have fun my little spiders smiley
