Home Learning, Week 5, Day 2, Tuesday 5th May

Date: 5th May 2020 @ 11:24am

Good Morning Year 1!

Happy Tuesday to you all and isn't it a beautiful day! sunshine

SHOUT OUTS!

Big shout out to yesterday's bloggers who have been sharing fascinating facts about Blackpool on the Blackpool Blog!  These children are Ewan, Oliver, Harry and Scarlett who have all shared amazing facts about various landmarks in Blackpool.  If you haven't already been on the blog, then do it today!  You will enjoy reading all the amazing facts and it might even inspire you to do some research and find some of your own!  I'm adding another landmark picture onto the blog shortly so keep your eyes peeled! cool

BBC Bitesize have added some great lessons onto their website today:

English (Literacy) - Writing a postcard using capital letters and full stops.

Maths (Numeracy) - Fact families.

Challenge:

As well as the above lessons, I would also like you to create a seaside scene this week for me, using whatever you like.  You might decide to sketch using pencil, colour a picture using felt tips or draw and then paint a picture.  It's entirely up to you.  If you can, please email it across to school.  Later in the week I am going to be showing you a different way of creating a seaside picture....all will be revealed!

VE Day:

How many of you have completed the VE Day work?  Are any of you planning a little picnic/party in your gardens this week?  Don't forget to colour in the bunting template I gave you and find somewhere to hang it.

Purple Mash:

Ive added a few more activities onto Purple Mash for you this morning and there will be another landmark and mystery question on the blog for you to have a  look at.

Final mention to Sophia and Alfie Baker!  Sophia has sent some pictures to school of her at Crank Caverns with her brother Jake and then a fabulous picture of her doing the splits during her acro-training.  Well done, Sophia!  It's lovely to see you looking so happy and well.  Well done Alfie for working so hard on your phonics with Mummy - keep up the hard work, you are doing amazing!

Until tomorrow, stay home, stay safe and keep smiling!  You are all AMAZING!
