Home Learning Day 4

Date: 25th Mar 2020 @ 7:19pm

Is it really only Thursday today? I don't know about all of you - Year 3, but I think the days are really dragging by without seeing all of our school family. The best way to make the days go quickly by is by keeping yourselves really busy - AND YOU ALL HAVE LOTS TO DO - so there is no excuse cheeky

Here is a suggested timetable to help you to plan your day today or on Friday.

9.00 Wake your body up with a work out with Joe Wicks. You can find him on YouTube. Some of our staff took part in one of his sessions earlier in the week - they found muscles they hadn't used before and they feel really stiff now! smiley

9.30 - 10.30 Try to complete a Maths activity from one of your work booklets.

10.30 - 11.00 Have a break. Get some fresh air and have a snack.

11.00 - 12.00 Daily reading from Serial Mash. Complete the next chapter of your book and write up your chapter review sheet. Try to complete an English activity from your booklet. Listen to a story by David Walliams. To listen to these stories go to https://www.worldofdavidwalliams.com/ then search for elevenses. When you click on the link it will take you to the story of the day.

12.00 - 1.30 Lunch and chill out time.

1.30 - 2.00 Times Tables Rock Stars or Times Table Activity on Purple Mash

2.00 - 3.00 Start research for your Ancient Greece project or treat yourself to an hour of Minecraft - BUT ONLY USE THE NEW EDUCATIONAL SITES AS IT'S LEARNING TIME wink

3.00 - School Ends for the day. Time to relax and have fun.

I received a lovely email from Addy on Wednesday telling me all about how she is keeping herself busy. She also sent me some photographs which I have included on this week's newsletter. If you would like to share any news with me, simply email me at school - stmaryrcbp@sthelens.org.uk and I will try to include your news on our weekly newsletter.

I want to end our daily blog with a big shout out to those children who have spent time on Times Tables Rock Star this week. My record sheet shows me that only half of Y3 have signed in to play - so come on the rest of you get yourself signed in and start to play - even if it's only for ten minutes a day!

Well done to Olivia B, Harrison, Harry, Thomas, Adelaide and Liam who have all improved their response times over the last few days. You are becoming Times Table Rock Stars.

Keep smiling everyone. Keep working hard and I'll be in touch again tomorrow.
