Home Learning Day 1

Date: 23rd Mar 2020 @ 1:28pm

Hello, Year 5!

I hope your first day of home learning is going well, and you are feeling happy and healthy!?

I just wanted to post a quick message with a few reminders of how your days should look over the coming few weeks.

Daily Tasks:

  • Remember to EXERCISE! Firstly, do a bit of exercise before you start work, and after lunch or at the end of the day (3pm). There are lots of ideas online (if you are able to access the internet).

You could tune in to Joe Wicks’ YouTube channel at 9am:

Change4Life (NHS) have also teamed up with Disney to produce some ’10 minute Shake-up’ activities, too:

Infinity Football Skills:

Just Dance Kids Videos on Youtube

GoNoodle : https://family.gonoodle.com/

Cosmic Kids Yoga has some fantastic story-telling yoga you can access:

If you don’t have internet access, why not do some circuit training in your garden or a spacious room in your house?  You could write down different stations on paper (e.g. 20 star jumps, 10 sit-ups, 15 jumping jacks, mountain climbers, lunges and so on- or more if you like!?) and time yourself/ put on some music as encouragement.

You could also put on some music and create your own aerobics or dance routine to teach an adult in your home?

As I come across more online myself, I will post them on my daily blog for you!

  • Read daily- either complete a section of your Kent Test Reading Comp, or read a chapter of a book on Purple Mash (and complete a chapter review)
  • Make sure you practice your times tables every day- try to become a Times Tables Rock Star, or head to Monster Multiplication/ Table Toons on Purple Mash!
  • Complete at least 2 pages of your Maths and English activity booklets in your pack
  • Finally, spend the rest of your afternoon on your research project, or completing a practical activity like some art or baking.

Remember children- use your time wisely whilst you are learning at home.

A healthy mind + a healthy body = a happy life!

Until tomorrow,

Miss Davies 😊
