Get ready to meet our new pets!

Date: 27th Sep 2019 @ 4:55pm

Come and See

As we continue with our topic of Families, we have shown all of the children's photos apart from those belonging to children who were absent at the beginning of the week commencing 23rd September.  If your photograph hasn't been returned then that means it has been specially selected to go on our 'Family' class display.  We have also learnt about Jesus' childhood and made zigzag books comparing his childhood to ours.  To finish off our topic, we have planned a class prayer time which will take place next week.heart

Numeracy

Maths this week has been very practical as we have been learning about tens and ones and place value.  The children have enjoyed working with strings of tens beads, tens sticks and ones, whole part part diagrams and tens and ones frames.

Take Turns Teddy and Reading Pets

In Year one, we have Take Turns Teddy, which some of the children have already been introduced to.  The children are chosen in turn to take home Teddy and write about their adventures together in Teddy's diary.  Now, we also have two new pets that the children will be able to adopt and take home for the week.  However, these pets need reading to for 15 minutes every night so if a child doesn't want to take the pet home, when it is their turn, then they dont have to.  Little critters will also be making an appearance in the Y1 classroom very soon!wink

Have a wonderful weekend parents and children and we will see you all again on Monday!heart
