Friday 27th March

Date: 27th Mar 2020 @ 8:39am

Good morning year 4!

Another beautiful day is here. I hope you are all going to go outside and enjoy the sunshine again .

I hope you are all enjoying your books and making sure you take time to read every day. Some of you may have finished your first book and be ready to complete your book reviews.

Make sure you are trying to complete at least 2pages of your maths and english booklets each day and keep an eye on Purple Mash for new activities that I have been setting. Today I have set you an art activity on Purple Mash, you need to complete the 2Do My Mosaic 1 and create an interesting Roman themed mosaic. Make sure that once you have finished that you remember to save your work.

Have any of you started a piece of writing while you have been off? In your pack there are some picture prompts to help inspire you to write a fantastic story! Remember to re-read what you are writing and try to edit your work as you go.

I can't believe the scores some of you have managed to achieve on times tables rock stars - keep up the amazing work! A big well done to Bronagh who was yesterday's times tables super star!

If anyone is interested in animals and would love a virtual trip to the zoo as we can't go in person at the moment, Chester Zoo is live streaming a tour of the zoo today starting at 10am. You will need to ask a parent to help you find it as it is being streamed on Facebook. Here are the details:

Chester Zoo have announced a virtual trip to the zoo will be shared on the attraction’s Facebook page throughout the day on Friday, March 27.

A Chester Zoo spokesman said: “As you cannot come to the zoo right now, we will bring the zoo to you!"

“Join us live from 10am when we will be throwing open our 'virtual gates’. So, break up the boredom of being at home and, for the first time ever, enjoy a whole day of animal antics, live from your sofa.”

People can ‘visit’ the zoo live from 10am on Friday morning and will tour various habitats every hour until 4pm.

The full schedule of videos are as follows:

10am: Red pandas

11am: Rothschild's giraffes

12pm: Asian elephants

1pm: Butterflies

2pm: Sun bears

2.30pm: Sumatran tigers

Keep working hard, make sure you exercise and have fun!

I'll talk to you again on Monday, I hope you all have a lovely weekend!
