Friday 12th June

Date: 11th Jun 2020 @ 10:47am

Happy Friday, Year 6!

I hope you are all well and are ready for a well-earned break over the weekend.

This week, we have been getting into more maths and literacy work at school and we have found it quite challenging to get our brains back into the speedy condition they were in before we left school in March! Yesterday, we tried our hand at fractions, decimals and percentages. We got there in the end, but found it more difficult than we expected: this shows why it is so important to keep working every day. A little and often is best to keep those brains ticking over. Here are some examples of the questions we have been completing. Have a go and see how you do.

1. 3/5 + 3/15

2. 2/3 + 1/5

3. 1/5 + 1/6 + 1/2

4. 476.3 + 780.9

5. 3.2 + 88.46 + 29.8

6. 498.3 + 23.916

7. 25% of 436

8. 30% x 3480

9. 90% of 1970

10. 75% x 3396

Today's BBC Bitesize lessons look particularly exciting. Here is a little breakdown of what is on offer for you:

Maths - calculating time in football

Art and Design - exciting paintings

Have a go!

While online, why not go onto Purple Mash or Education City and complete some of the 2dos I have set for you? You could also read a book on Serial Mash or try to beat Hope at Times Tables Rockstars. wink

That's it from me for this week. I will be back in touch with you all on Monday. Have a safe, restful weekend and I will speak to you soon!
