Helloooo!

Welcome to another year in Y5!

I must say- it's about time! I was getting pretty bored over the Summer holidays- I don't get many visitors you see!

What have Y5 been up to you say?

Well, let's see...

RE

The children seem to have got stuck into their first Come and See topic 'Ourselves' last week. They have been researching inspirational people like Mother Teresa, Martin Luther King and Helen Prejean. They have been writing about the unique qualities and talents God has given them, and they have been learning all about school's Core Values and Mission statement again, not to mention some wonderful Collective Worships. I can't keep track if I'm being honest!

Literacy

This week, the children have been setting their targets and editing their letters from before the Summer. They have done an amazing job with their purple pens- I could see the improvement from my tank! Impressive!

Maths

It's been all about Place Value this week! Reading, writing, ordering, comparing, rounding. Too many 'ings' if you ask me!

The children did a fabulous job though!

Topic

Topic starts next week OFFICIALLY as the children have been spending time on some Pop Art work- researching Andy Warhol. More to come...

This is just a snippet of what Y5 have been getting up to so far.

It is great to see another set of eager pupils for a brand new year. Exciting stuff!
