Children in Need Week

Date: 13th Nov 2020 @ 4:15pm

What a fun filled week!

We started the week with Marvellous Monday! The children came to school in their own clothes which reflected their personalities. We had lots of colourful clothing, sports kits and even pyjamas!

Every day this week we have enjoyed watching Children in Need's Five to Thrive videos. Each day their has been a different theme focussing on the importance of metal health and well-being. Throughout the week we have discussed

  • Friendships and how staying connected with friends and family is important especially at the moment.
  • Taking notice and spending time thinking about the things we are greatful for.
  • Being active and how exercise is good for us both physically and for our mental well-being.
  • Being curious and brave and learning new things and trying to develop new skills.
  • Giving our time to each other by being kind and genenerous.

On Friday, the children came to school with Pudsey T-shirts, socks, headbands, hats and much more to celebrate Children in Need. During the day they have completed lots of Children in Need themed activities from reading comprehensions to code breaking activities to times table colouring.

We ended the day by taking part in the Children in Need Duck Race! The children each selected a duck from the list before cheering on their duck in the race. Popular ducks included The Quacken, Quack and Cheese, Quackman and Bobbin and James Pond. The winner was Quackman and Bobbin who nobody selected! Harriet, Isla L, Emilia and Isla W all chose the duck who finished in second place, Quack and Cheese!

It has been a brilliant week and the children have really thought about ways to keep active, look after each other and themselves.
