Black History and Teach and Treat

Date: 22nd Oct 2021 @ 9:31pm

Hello Everyone!

We have had a very busy last week, squashed into 3 days!

We have been learning what Black History Month is and why we celebrate it. We learnt about 2 very important people in Black History; Rosa Parks and Mary Seacole.  The children felt very strongly about how we should be kind to everyone because we are all God's children, special and different.

We also learnt about a famous black artist called Alma Woodsey Thomas and made collages in the image of her paintings.

On Tuesday, we had our Teach and Treat Day.  The morning was taken up with Halloween maths and art work and in the afternoon we happily munched our snacks and glugged our drinks whilst watching Hotel Transylvania.

Have a lovely half term break.

Love from Mrs Duffy and Mrs Taylor
