A Day To Remember - Friday 20th March 2020

Date: 20th Mar 2020 @ 3:58pm

Today, the staff at St. Mary's decided to make the last official day a fun one! In a time of worry, anxiety and uncertainty, it was decided that our children needed - and deserved - an enjoyable, worry-free day at school. With this in mind, we have been very busy!

First, we were treated to some boogie time: we went into the infant hall and danced our troubles away! cheeky We took part in GoNoodle and Just Dance on the big screen. Some of us bust some serious moves!

Next, we went back to class and took part in an activity that was all about us. It was a fact file, where we had to draw pictures of ourselves, write our names, ages and things we liked.

This afternoon, the fun continued! We went on a scavenger hunt around school: we were given a clue and a letter telling us what to do. We had to work as a class to roam the school, searching for clues. Every class completed the challenge at the same time, but started from different points. It was a little bit hectic but extremely enjoyable!

Our scavenger hunt led us outside to the playground. When we got out there, Mrs Taylor was ready and waiting to do a whole school 'Big Sing' outside. We sang some brilliant songs and Father Paul even came to have a listen.

Finally, the reason behind our fact file activity became clear. Mrs Naylor explained to us that we were going to bury a time capsule for future generations of St. Mary's to find in years to come. We dug a hole in Reception's garden and gathered around as a school to bury all of our lovely work.

Overall, our day has been a fun-filled one, and we have all left school tonight with big smiles on our faces. We are looking forward to coming back in the near future.

Keep safe everyone.

See you soon!
