27 th April Home School

Date: 27th Apr 2020 @ 8:24am

Good morning everyone,

Here’s to a new week of Home School.  A big shout out to those children who have been trying so hard at home.  Some children have completed wonderful Safari Fact sheets using Purple Mash and I know some of you have been making Safari Posters, keep up the good work.

Last week I set some 2Dos and some MYCities (Homework)  which will help you to learn to tell the time.  I have set up some new 2Dos for this week, but make sure you complete last week’s ones first as this week it is learning to tell the time in 5 minute intervals and they are much trickier.

NEWSFLASH!!!

Today’s BB1Y2 Bitesize daily lesson is all about Neil Armstrong.  There is a short video to watch and then some activities to follow.  Why not have a go? We must all now be real experts on the subject of the first lunar landing.

The maths on BBC Bitesize Daily today is recognising coins and the literacy is looking at letter formation and alliteration.

For those of you following the excellent White Rose Maths Home learning this week’s focus is comparing length.

Finally for those children in Y2 who love reading there are some brilliant ways to listen to stories read by some famous people.  Ask a grown up to help you find “Watch Read-Along Mondays with Michelle Obama on YouTube.”  Last week she read “The Gruffalo” and it was really entertaining.  Our class favourite “The Highway Rat” is read by the former Doctor Who actor David Tennant.  You can find him and other famous actors  on the Save with Stories website.  You could even ask a parent to record you reading a favourite story out loud and then share it with your teddies for their bedtime story!

Happy home learning
